Adbrite or Addumb? Maybe Even Addump?
Adbrite or Addumb? Maybe Even Addump? AdDump will send your cash off a cliff — so signup today!
Granted — I understand that impression based marketing is hard and that PPC much operate as a fine tuned machine. That is why I always use Track My Campaign for my PPC operations — but lets throw some mud on Adbrite for a moment.
Before I bust on any service… I always highlight the pros. Technically I HAVE used Adbrite in a successful way. It was using Friendster campaigns and driving traffic to sites within the gaming industry. I could buy a days worth of promotion for under $150, they would send 50,000,000 or more impressions, people downloaded, and played, and everything was great. Now Friendster only sends about 600,000 impressions for the same $$. The real issue — click rates as low as 0.002%. But any account..
AdDump… I mean Adbrite, is a great way for new people to pack their cash into a cart and throw it off a cliff. Their ‘network’ ads are full of false clicks and sites setup overseas being slammed with either orphan china kids or robots. In either account — I am posting because I just want some insight to how this company got so big with such bad business practices? They are friendly until you approach them saying… hey… whats up with all the China traffic, no clicks, no sales, false impressions, and HUGE bill? These people make money because new guys signup and hand over their cash.
So… some advice to my fellow Adbrite cash contributors… first don’t… but if you do… here are some guidelines..
1) Never give them free reign to spend your money for you. Always promote with SITE SPECIFIC campaigns.
2) Never pay CPM or run banner ads that you pay by the 1000 impressions. Their traffic is too garbage to work with this.
3) Always use a pre-paid card when signing up like PayJR.com. Otherwise they might slam you with fees.
4) Always track your campaigns and make sure they are sending China coffee shop visitors to your site and robots.
5) Isolate every site you purchase from and measure results, 9 out of 10 you will lose money with.
Adbrite does not work well, and is kinda a ripoff, but if you do this then you might get decent results. I once promoted a SEO product on a very small niche site and that worked out well, they were using Adbrite. Also — note to publishers — if your a small site and using Adbrite then most likely you won’t get paid, so don’t waste your time.
I don’t mean to hound any company but geeze — these guys are just really bomb shelling the small guys and its not right. At some point they are going to have to find some accountability.
